Student Life
Student learning doesn’t only happen in a classroom! Opportunities for learning and development exist everywhere throughout your life as a student.
Clubs and Organizations
Get involved with one or many of our . We have everything from student senate and political groups to sports and clubs, social justice and service groups, spiritual and ministry opportunities or focus on your academic and career possibilities. These groups foster self-confidence, create new friendships and develop leadership skills.
On Campus at St. Cloud
The St. Cloud campus is full of students interested in becoming nurses. Because nursing is the sole focus of this campus, every student starts out having something in common, which makes it easier to find people to study with in the student lounge.
Ultimately, you will be able to make friendships that last long after graduation. Each relationship that you make here also has the potential to become an asset in your future as friends can easily become colleagues as you pursue careers together in the healthcare field.
The Online Experience
Online students lead busy lives, often fitting in their online coursework between work and even families. Because of this, online students participate in a community that is more virtual than in person, but a community that is still vibrant and integral to their education.
Most online courses utilize group work and zoom discussion, which allows students to get acquainted naturally with each other and their instructors. Students who live locally will often meet up in person to work together or just for social activities. The online courses provide so many ways to interact and learn together. There are even opportunities for elective trips! As a remote learner, you will never be without a community to support your progress.
Graduate and Doctoral Programs
Depending on your program, you may study on the Duluth Main Campus, at the St. Cloud campus, at the Health Science Center (HSC) in Duluth or online, and your experience will differ depending on your program or location.
But, every graduate and doctoral student will work closely with dedicated and skilled instructors. And you will learn next to students who share your drive and passion for your specialty. In cohorts or classrooms, you will find students who will work and study with you. Your learning community will help you thrive in your program.
